companies to adhere to proper accounting practices. This paper explores the Adelphia
Communications scandal which was uncovered in 2002. The major ethical issues concerning this
case are highlighted. The paper also discusses deontological ethics and Immanuel Kant’s
categorical imperatives and applies them to the Adelphia Communications case.
