FACTS:

The case Florence v. Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Burlington, 566

U.S., 10-945 2012 dealt with the rationality of strip search where an individual is detained and is

processed so that s/he can get admitted to a prison’s general population. The court’s fact pattern

shows that Mr. Albert W. Florence was arrested in Essex County because of running away from

the police officers in 1998. Mr. Florence was charged with obstructing justice and using a

deadly weapon which were reduced to two smaller crimes. He pleaded guilty and a fine was

imposed on him. The NJ criminal court permitted him to pay the fine through monthly

installments (Florence v. Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Burlington, 10-945

2012).
