(1) write a one-page brief (bullet points optional) expressing their ethics-related leadership and actions after completing the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Ethics Self-Assessment.
(2) critically analyze areas in which they are on strong ethical ground, areas that they may wish to examine the basis for their responses, and opportunities for further reflection in which critical analysis will include:
a. review of their responses, noting which questions they answered “usually,” “occasionally” and “almost never.”
b. notice of any red flags where their responses may not be compatible with the ACHE Code of Ethics.
c. consideration of one case example where they may have noted in the self-assessment that they may benefit from altering their ethical foundation to assist in addressing challenging, ethical conflicts.
d. Description of an action plan they may use to enhance their ethical practice and leadership as it pertains to their case example.
