Purpose: To become familiar with academic journals and research related to HRM practices.
Process: Identify 3 articles on a topic of interest. Two must appear in academic (not practitioner) journals on a topic related to Human Resource Management. Two of your references must be published in the last 10 years.
Academic Journals: For purposes of this assignment, the following will be considered academic journals: Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Organizational Performance and Human Decision Processes, Human Performance, International Journal of Selection and Assessment. At least two of your articles come from these journals: Product: The final product will include: a) Title page with your name and student ID, b) a separate Abstract page (100 words or less), c) 5-page (maximum) discussion of your topic, double spaced, 11-point font, and d) a reference page. Your paper should use correct grammar and spelling and should be written clearly and succinctly.
Your research brief should cover the following: 1. Statement of the problem and its importance to HRM.2. Description of the participants, methods, approaches in your three papers.
3. Summary and integration of the findings across the three studies. 4. Description of lessons learned for HRM. 5. References
You should cite references in the text in either of the two ways shown below. 1. Two major perspectives on the empowerment phenomenon have emerged (Liden & Arad, 1996;
